About the role#
Flow Traders is seeking analytical students to join the New York trading team for a nine-week summer internship. This program offers a comprehensive view of market-making activities and the role of a trader in global financial markets. Interns will work directly on the trading floor, gaining hands-on experience in how traders identify arbitrage opportunities and optimize desk performance.
What you'll do#
- Learn directly from industry leaders on the New York trading floor.
- Participate in structured educational courses and hands-on trading simulations.
- Develop and test trading strategies through project-based work using quantitative models and trading tools.
- Collaborate with Traders and Quantitative Researchers to solve real-world trading challenges.
- Engage in intern events and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program at a United States institution, with a preference for the Class of 2028.
- Academic background in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, or related STEM fields.
- Demonstrable interest in trading and global financial markets.
- Excellent mental math, quantitative, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and an affinity for scientific programming or development languages.
- Ability to think on your feet, reason logically, and deliver under pressure.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York, United States.
- Term: Summer 2027 (early June through early August).
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Compensation: The total compensation includes a prorated base salary of $150,000. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary variable remuneration based on performance.
