About the role#
Flagship Labs 117 is an AI and biology startup building multi-modal generative models for biomolecular design. As a co-op, you will join an interdisciplinary team of machine learning researchers, computational biologists, and biophysicists. You will work on molecular representation and generative modeling to help advance our drug discovery platform. This position is open exclusively to current Northeastern University students.
What you'll do#
- Build and deploy models in collaboration with scientists.
- Curate and organize data from various public and proprietary sources.
- Run experiments using diverse datasets and novel techniques.
- Communicate your findings to a multi-disciplinary audience.
What you'll need#
- Fluency in Python.
- Experience implementing machine learning methods with tools like PyTorch or JAX.
- A desire to learn the biology, physics, and chemistry behind our platform.
- Experience with RDKit, BioPython, Rosetta, OpenMM, or PySCF.
- A background in computer science, machine learning, or computational biology through coursework or publications.
- Familiarity with generative models, natural language processing, graphical neural networks, or reinforcement learning.
- Experience with software development tools including git and cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Location & details#
- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Term: January 2027 to June 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week on-site.
- Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour.
