About the role#
Fishbeck is looking for an Intern Architect to join our team in Grand Rapids. You will work on various project types including higher education, healthcare, municipal, commercial, and retail facilities. This position allows you to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of architects, designers, and engineers while gaining experience across the design and documentation process.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers on project teams.
- Assist with design development from initial concepts through construction documentation.
- Prepare building concepts, presentation materials, and construction documents.
- Create and modify project models and drawings using Revit and other design software.
- Conduct material and product research to support project development.
- Coordinate architectural documents with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits.
- Support the preparation of accurate and high-quality project deliverables.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited university.
- Prior architectural internship or co-op experience.
- Experience developing projects using Revit and SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign.
- An interest in working toward architectural registration.
- Strong design, visualization, and presentation skills.
- Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- A self-motivated and adaptable approach to working in a collaborative environment.
