About the role#
Fishbeck is looking for a Data Science and AI/Machine Learning Intern to join our IT team in Grand Rapids. You will help us collect and analyze data while researching new initiatives in artificial intelligence. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
- Assist in developing machine learning models for prediction, classification, and trend analysis.
- Support AI initiatives involving generative AI, natural language processing, and automation.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to find patterns and opportunities.
- Help evaluate model performance and suggest improvements.
- Document your methodologies, findings, and best practices.
- Participate in technology research and proof-of-concept projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into data-driven solutions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A basic understanding of machine learning concepts and statistical analysis.
- Experience with Python and data analysis libraries like Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
