About the role#
Fishbeck is looking for a Civil Field intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time position where you will work directly with our Civil Field team to monitor construction projects and support engineering operations. You will gain hands-on experience by observing project execution and assisting with daily documentation.
What you'll do#
- Write daily reports that document jobsite conditions and the work completed each day.
- Check that construction activities match design specifications and contract requirements.
- Help engineers and inspectors process Requests for Information.
- Visit project sites to observe how infrastructure work is executed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to communicate your findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working outdoors and traveling to various project sites.
- Previous experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is helpful but not required.

- This internship is based in Michigan with openings available in Lansing, West Michigan, and Metro Detroit.
- The role offers both on-site and hybrid work options.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
