About the role#
Fishbeck is hiring a Civil Field intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time position where you will work alongside our Civil Field team to support ongoing infrastructure projects. You will gain hands-on experience by observing project execution and assisting with daily field operations.
What you'll do#
- Write daily reports that document jobsite conditions and the progress of work.
- Help verify that construction activities meet design specifications and contract requirements.
- Assist engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Attend site visits to observe how projects are executed in the field.
- Learn to communicate findings and work with multidisciplinary teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working outdoors and traveling to various project sites.
- Previous experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Michigan, with candidates able to reside in the West Michigan, Lansing, or Metro Detroit markets.
- Work modality is hybrid and on-site.
- This is a paid internship.
