About the role#
This internship helps specify, design, and implement complex control systems and software programming on production equipment. You will work alongside project engineers, maintenance staff, and production teams to improve machine efficiency and system performance. This role provides hands-on experience in high-speed manufacturing environments.
What you'll do#
- Follow all OSHA and company safety rules and address electrical hazards immediately.
- Support the design, installation, and startup of new equipment and process controls.
- Modify PLC logic, HMI programs, and servo controller logic to optimize system performance.
- Diagnose equipment issues using laptops, electrical schematics, meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Coordinate machine data collection and maintain the plant data historian system.
- Interface production and lab equipment to the plant network.
- Identify and lead projects to improve production operations.
- Organize technical documentation and assist in training team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience with one or more programming languages.
- Proficiency with personal computers, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others across all experience levels.
