About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2026. You will work within the Capital Markets department to improve the understanding of investment management, debt issuance, hedging strategies, and member product pricing. The role is based on-site in Topeka, Kansas.
What you'll do#
- Identify sources of volatility within the investment and derivative portfolio.
- Conduct research on member products and various risk exposures.
- Develop analysis and presentations regarding specific strategies.
- Identify potential portfolio transactions.
- Research and summarize current financial topics.
- Review, analyze, and update procedures and spreadsheets.
- Build an understanding of the bank's business, balance sheet, and financial instruments.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least your sophomore year toward an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting, or 12 hours of college-level coursework in these fields.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- One year of related work experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg or other financial data sources is preferred.
