This paid, full-time summer internship is designed for a student to gain practical experience in the Capital Markets department. The role focuses on investment management, debt issuance, hedging strategies, and member product pricing. Interns will utilize financial, statistical, and communication skills to support the management of the bank's portfolios and strategies.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the identification of volatility sources within the investment and derivative portfolio.
- Research member products and document various risk exposures.
- Develop analysis and presentations for specific financial strategies.
- Identify potential portfolio transactions.
- Research and summarize current financial topics.
- Review, analyze, and update internal procedures and spreadsheets.
- Develop an understanding of the financial instruments, balance sheet, and general business strategies utilized by the bank.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least the sophomore year of an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting, or 12 hours of college-level coursework in these fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- One year of related work experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg or other financial data sources is preferred.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
