About the role#
As a Finance Intern at First Student, you will assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the general ledger and prepare financial reports under direct supervision. This role provides exposure to corporate accounting processes and financial analysis within the school and employee bus services industry.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, review, and adjust journal entries.
- Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain fixed assets, including property additions and disposals.
- Participate in Department Efficiency Teams to help automate accounting processes.
- Analyze financial information to ensure data quality.
- Report on company finances to management, offering suggestions on resource utilization and budget forecasts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS codification.
- Experience with MS Office products.
- Proficiency in English, as required for safety communications and company documentation.
- Previous experience with accounting software is preferred.

- This position is based on-site in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
