About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to learn how banks identify, analyze, and control market risks. You will work with the Market Risk Department to measure the bank's exposure to market risk and support policy decisions. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Irving, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Assist in measuring the bank's market risk exposure.
- Prepare periodic reports and conduct in-depth analyses of risk exposure.
- Help maintain the bank's income forecast process and framework.
- Gather market information and validate data using independent sources.
- Optimize and enhance Power BI reports and datasets.
- Research intrabank data to ensure consistency.
- Perform ad hoc analysis to support risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with teams in Treasury, Accounting, Information Technology, Lending, Credit, and Financial Operations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, information technology, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- Strong conceptual, analytic, and technical skills.
- Proficiency in SQL, VBA, Power BI, and the MS Office Suite.
- Ability to write queries and macros from scratch to automate reporting and data manipulation.
- Experience developing advanced, dynamic Power BI dashboards.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and execute multiple project assignments.
