About the role#
This internship offers a look into the daily operations of a trading desk. You will work alongside traders, portfolio managers, and treasurers to understand pricing methodologies, funding practices, and hedging. You will also interact with departments such as Risk, Accounting, and IT.
What you'll do#
- Learn how a mortgage portfolio is managed.
- Support product pricing for advances and mortgages.
- Facilitate transaction verification and documentation.
- Automate reports and processes using SSRS, VBA, SQL, or Power BI.
- Test new products and systems.
- Conduct market research and collect information, verifying its validity with multiple sources.
- Perform ad hoc analyses to support portfolio management strategies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Working knowledge of fixed income financial instruments and risk measures.
- Exposure to data science and computer science.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, with the ability to create and maneuver spreadsheets.
- Technical knowledge in VBA, SQL, and Power BI.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Conceptual and analytic skills relevant to financial asset pricing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple project assignments.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
