About the role#
This 12-week summer internship offers an introduction to agricultural lending, risk management, and economic forecasting. You will work directly with the Credit Services team to understand the fundamentals of credit philosophy and how financial decisions support Missouri agriculture. You will be paired with a mentor from our Young Professional group to provide guidance and support.
What you'll do#
- Assess borrower creditworthiness and review financial documentation.
- Analyze how macroeconomic trends influence lending decisions.
- Complete a hands-on project that provides value to the Credit Services team.
- Present your project findings to the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and staff.
- Collaborate with FCS staff as an active team member.
- Learn about customer relationships and marketing strategies within the financial services industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college sophomore (30+ credits), junior (60+ credits), first-semester senior, or graduate student.
- Major in Ag Business, Ag Econ, Animal Science, Agronomy, Ag Education, Ag Communications, General Ag, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- General knowledge of agriculture, rural communities, and financial services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to different work environments.

- Location: Jefferson City, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks, typically late May through early August).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship starting at $20.00 per hour.
