About the role#
This 10-week internship provides a hands-on overview of the industrial construction management process. You will participate in a structured rotation through Pre-Construction, Production, and Field Operations to gain exposure to the full project lifecycle. The program includes virtual professional development training and bi-weekly mentorship meetings.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through Pre-Construction, Production, and Field Operations.
- Learn the proposal and budgeting process, including conceptual estimating and quantity takeoffs.
- Conduct subcontractor scope reviews, clarifications, and communicate with trades.
- Assist with bidding, buyout, and subcontractor selection.
- Review drawings, identify scopes of work, and learn about MEP subcontractors.
- Gain exposure to permitting, project documentation, and closeout processes.
- Understand scheduling, project flow, and subcontractor feedback.
- Review plans on-site, attend pre-construction meetings, and participate in daily site walks.
- Apply jobsite safety practices and track project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- A positive attitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with CMiC, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project is preferred.
- Prior construction management internship experience is a plus.
