About the role#
Boyd Jones Construction is hiring for a 12-week summer internship in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site and gain exposure to the construction industry through hands-on projects and mentorship from our preconstruction team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with quantity take-offs and material pricing for commercial projects.
- Support the preparation of cost estimates and bid packages.
- Research subcontractor and supplier pricing while maintaining vendor databases.
- Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications to identify the scope of work.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and post-bid analysis.
- Support the team with value engineering and scope review during preconstruction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited program for Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- A self-motivated attitude and a willingness to learn.

- Compensation: Paid internship with a competitive hourly wage. A housing stipend is available based on individual circumstances.
