About the role#
Boyd Jones Construction offers a 12-week internship for students to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will work alongside project engineers, superintendents, and project managers on active building projects. This role provides exposure to the full project lifecycle from preconstruction to closeout.
What you'll do#
- Manage daily activities on active construction sites.
- Perform quantity take-offs, site surveys, and layout work.
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing reviews.
- Support safety programs and quality control efforts.
- Coordinate tasks with suppliers, subcontractors, architects, and owners.
- Document project meetings.
- Help maintain project schedules and track costs.
- Review construction documents and specifications.
- Participate in punch-list and project closeout activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited program in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with scheduling software.

- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
