About the role#
We are looking for an Engineering Intern to join our Maintenance and Controls team in Louisville. This role provides hands-on experience in the automotive industry by working on projects that improve manufacturing efficiency and equipment performance.
What you'll do#
- Support the Maintenance and Controls team with breakdown troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative measures.
- Learn to use software for creating and editing PLCs, HMI, and Vision systems.
- Partner with the engineering team to build new manufacturing stations from the ground up.
- Assist Controls engineers in analyzing and optimizing manufacturing processes to reduce waste.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement process and equipment improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Prior internship or project experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
