About the role#
KLA is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join our algorithms team. You will work with experienced engineers and scientists to develop machine learning solutions for semiconductor manufacturing. This position offers hands-on experience applying machine learning to real-world data.
What you'll do#
- Build, train, and evaluate machine learning and deep learning models for critical dimension (CD) metrology.
- Develop physics-informed machine learning approaches that incorporate physical models and constraints into model design and training.
- Explore methods for learning from limited data and estimating uncertainty.
- Write clean, reusable Python code and present your results to the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
- Strong Python skills and hands-on deep learning experience, such as PyTorch.
- Solid machine learning and data science fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Less than 1 year of related experience.
- Publications in physics-informed machine learning are preferred.
- Experience with real-world experimental or sensor data is a plus.
- A background in optics, imaging, or other physical sciences is helpful.
