About the role#
Farther Farms is hiring an Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 at our Rochester, New York research facility. This role supports our Engineering, Operations, and Product teams as they design, develop, and scale food processing technologies. You will work on experimental design, data collection, and process optimization projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, testing, and improvement of food processing equipment and systems.
- Support experimentation and process optimization through data collection, analysis, and documentation.
- Operate and troubleshoot pilot-scale equipment and instrumentation.
- Document designs, test results, and process learnings in clear, organized formats.
- Support day-to-day pilot facility operations, including basic maintenance and equipment organization.
- Identify and communicate equipment issues or process inefficiencies.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or a similar technical field.
- Demonstrated technical, analytical, or quantitative experience.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work safely in lab and pilot manufacturing environments.
