About the role#
The Software Engineer Intern joins the Product Development team to design, build, and improve web applications. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional environment, focusing on real-world software development tasks for our facility and asset management solutions.
What you'll do#
- Build new application features based on specifications from Product Management and senior engineers.
- Develop UI components with React and backend services using Express and Node.js.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools and prompt-driven workflows to speed up development.
- Identify and fix bugs reported by QA, customers, or internal testing.
- Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality.
- Participate in peer code reviews and provide feedback on Product Requirement Documents.
- Document code and internal processes.
- Attend Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience building web applications.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js/Express.
- Familiarity with Git, RESTful APIs, and relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot application issues and test web applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools, web accessibility best practices, and AI-assisted development workflows is preferred.
- Final year students or recent graduates are preferred.
