About the role#
As an Upstream Facilities Engineering student, you will join our team to work alongside experienced professionals. You will receive direct coaching and mentorship from Professional Engineers while contributing to projects that drive real results. This role offers hands-on experience and exposure to the daily work of our engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Manage Change projects involving engineering design for facilities modifications and enhancements, such as piping, instrumentation, and rotating equipment.
- Work within a multidisciplinary group to optimize plant production and resolve process issues.
- Review technical requests for information, including changes, repairs, and equipment alterations.
- Perform pressure relief path analysis when removing relief devices from service.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform regular process surveillance of area-driven KPIs.
- Provide recommendations to Operations for optimization opportunities.
- Implement industry code and design practices into engineered design packages.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program for Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Availability for a work term beginning in January or May 2027.
- Commitment to return to full-time studies after the work term.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to safety on and off the job.
- Submission of your most recent unofficial transcript is required for consideration.
