About the role#
This is a paid internship opportunity for the Fall 2026 term. Participants will gain hands-on experience in sports communications while applying academic knowledge to real-world projects. The program runs from September 14, 2026, through December 10, 2026, with a weekly commitment of 24 to 29.9 hours. Interns will work in a hybrid capacity and are expected to be in the New York office approximately 3 days per week.
What you'll do#
- Develop, edit, and proofread communications materials, including press releases, media pitches, interview briefs, and fact sheets.
- Conduct background research on clients, media outlets, and reporters to identify coverage opportunities.
- Compile and analyze media and competitor coverage, including real-time monitoring and reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and influencers.
- Manage reactive media requests and proactively pitch client initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.
- Provide administrative support to the Communications team, including calendar management and the distribution of internal and external newsletters.
- Utilize public relations software to research and update media lists and editorial calendars.
What you'll need#
- Senior standing in an undergraduate program (must have completed junior year) or enrollment in a graduate school program.
- Academic background in Communications, Journalism, Public Health, Business Administration, Marketing, or Media Studies.
- Strong storytelling, editorial, and writing capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to work in the New York office approximately 3 days per week.
