About the role#
The 2027 Underwriter Summer Internship Program offers exposure to Property and Casualty Reinsurance and Insurance. This 10-week program runs from June 1, 2027, to August 6, 2027. You will build upon your academic foundations while applying your knowledge to real-world scenarios in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Support casualty and property teams in daily underwriting processes.
- Meet with brokers as part of the internship experience.
- Collaborate on the pre-qualification of deals and provide summaries for submission flow.
- Assist in classifying submissions, including quoted and declined items, for reporting and data analytics.
- Shadow underwriters during information gathering and exposure analysis.
- Monitor rate change reports and account tracking documentation.
- Participate in leader-led professional development workshops and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Status as a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated leadership or involvement in extracurricular activities, campus clubs, or community organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume environment.
- Permanent US employment authorization (sponsorship is not provided).

- Work Modality: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
