About the role#
The Everest Actuarial Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience running from May 31, 2027, to August 6, 2027. This program offers exposure to property and casualty reinsurance and insurance through business experience and professional development. Interns apply their academic foundations to real-world scenarios while networking with industry professionals. This role is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support pricing actuaries with individual account submissions and opportunities.
- Collaborate on actuarial pricing analyses for insurance and reinsurance transactions.
- Partner with team leaders, analysts, and peers on data manipulation and analytics projects.
- Research industry data sources to support various lines of business.
- Participate in professional and personal development workshops and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
- Preferred majors include Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative fields.
- At least one passed actuarial exam is a plus.
- Strong critical thinking, pattern recognition, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of or an aptitude to learn VBA, R, and SQL.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel tools like pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Permanent US employment authorization (sponsorship is not provided).
Location & details#
- Locations: Warren, NJ; Miami, FL; or New York, NY.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
- Compensation: $900 - $1,000 per week, based on individual qualifications and location.
