About the role#
ESCO Maritime Solutions is seeking a Supply Chain Summer Intern to join our team in Yaphank, New York. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in procurement, inventory management, and the full supply chain life cycle within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Manage procurement activities from the initial intent to purchase through final delivery.
- Issue RFQs, POs, and IDWAs in compliance with company and government regulations.
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and monitor supplier metrics and approvals.
- Analyze requirements, including specifications, preferred suppliers, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure materials are delivered on schedule, meet quality standards, and align with inventory expectations.
- Support the procurement team with sourcing, contract negotiations, and demand forecasting.
- Track key performance indicators and assist in preparing reports for management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost savings and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Must be a US Person or eligible to obtain required Export Authorization.
