Quality Engineer-Summer Intern

About the role#

ESCO Maritime Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer Summer Intern to join our team in a manufacturing environment. This role involves partnering with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure products and processes meet applicable standards and specifications. You will gain hands-on experience while contributing to our quality policy and real-world manufacturing solutions.

What you'll do#

• Analyze production lines and devise test procedures to identify manufacturing deficiencies.
• Develop departmental standards and establish tools for day-to-day management.
• Document system workflows and analyze the current state of systems.
• Write, execute, and manage test cases.
• Design metrics to measure performance and process improvements.
• Provide technical oversight to suppliers regarding process development, Lean Six Sigma tools, measurement systems, and mistake-proofing.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, quality control processes, and manufacturing workflows.
• Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and process deviations.
• Strong analytical thinking to troubleshoot quality issues and suggest solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and an aptitude for learning new software.
• Ability to document findings, write reports, and communicate effectively with teams.
• Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Preferred experience includes exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and familiarity with tools such as calipers, micrometers, or CMM.
