About the role#
ESCO Maritime Solutions is seeking an Engineering Intern to contribute to research, development, and process improvement projects. This role involves working both independently and within a team to support the design and manufacturing of naval defense systems, including human-machine interfaces, sensors, and controllers. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Manage and complete projects focused on research, design, and process improvement.
- Research new technologies and assist with electrical or CAD design for products and assembly fixtures.
- Develop software for modern user interfaces or microcontrollers.
- Coordinate with vendors to facilitate the manufacturing of custom parts.
- Produce necessary engineering and production documentation.
- Design laboratory experiments and generate technical reports as needed.
What you'll need#
- Completion of 2-3 years of higher education in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical program.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Preferred experience or coursework in CAD software (such as KiCad, Solidworks, Altium, or Inventor).
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Experience with control and data acquisition tools or programming languages such as Python, C, or VBA.
