About the role#
Ericsson is hiring a Software Developer Intern to join the Central Network Engineering unit at our Montreal R&D site. This team focuses on the evolution of 5G core network products, specifically within network APIs and exposure. You will work within an Agile team, guiding projects through the full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment and operations.
What you'll do#
- Work as a full member of an Agile team using a variety of technologies.
- Participate in the verification automation of a cloud-native telecommunication product.
- Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and cases to validate new features.
- Automate test cases and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with the verification team and software developers to report, analyze, and debug internal bugs.
- Perform various testing types, including integration, security, system, performance, stability, scalability, and robustness testing.
- Ensure the quality, resilience, and maintainability of the product.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate, master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (second-year student or higher).
- A minimum GPA of 2.7 or equivalent.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, and Shell.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience or familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Spinnaker.
- Basic understanding of virtualization, networking, and cloud/container technologies like Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
Location & details#
- Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (4-8 months).
- Start Date: January 11, 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (currently 3 days per week at the St-Laurent office).
- Commitment: 40 hours per week.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship. Note that Ericsson does not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
