About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to work on technical projects within the Interconnection and Grid Analysis Administration department. You will work alongside ERCOT employees to address real challenges facing the electric industry. Throughout the summer, you will contribute to teams focused on Large Generation Integration, Operations Stability Support, Dynamic Studies System Planning, and Dynamic Studies Interconnection.
What you'll do#
- Solve technical problems related to the Texas power grid.
- Collaborate with professional teams on grid analysis and interconnection projects.
- Gain experience in power systems analysis and grid planning.
- Participate in departmental initiatives to support grid stability and integration.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A focus on Power Systems is preferred for Electrical Engineering students.
- Experience building software or coding in C#, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with SQL for database querying.
- Experience with power systems analysis.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The program runs from early June through the second week of August.
- Work is hybrid, with a requirement to be on-site in Taylor, Texas, at least 2 days per week.
