About the role#
This internship program offers students the chance to work in a technical professional environment. You will receive assignments and projects that aim to solve real challenges facing the electric industry. You will also work alongside ERCOT employees and participate as a member of a team. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop professional skills in a technical environment.
- Work on projects that address current challenges in the electric industry.
- Collaborate with team members in the System Operations department.
- Contribute to areas including Event Analysis, Grid Analysis, Macro Economic Load Analytics, and Operations Engineering and Application Support.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- A focus on Power Systems is preferred.
- Enrollment in an academic program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Experience with software development and coding in C#, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with database querying using SQL.
- Experience with power systems analysis.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Taylor, Texas.
- The work modality is hybrid. Interns are required to be on-site in Taylor at least 2 days per week, with additional days as determined by business needs.
- The internship runs from the start of June through the second week of August 2027.
