The Operations & Community Engagement Fellow will support Equality Florida by bridging the gap between technical operations and community-focused initiatives. This part-time fellowship is designed for individuals interested in non-profit operations, cybersecurity, and community organizing. The role requires a self-directed approach to managing projects that strengthen internal security and enhance member and volunteer relations.
What you'll do#
- Cybersecurity & IT: Work directly with staff to implement cybersecurity measures and develop accessible training materials to support team members with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Pride Event Logistics: Research and evaluate Pride events across Florida, assist with event coordination, manage vendor relationships, and track engagement data to inform future strategies.
- Community Engagement: Design systems to improve the volunteer experience, develop processes to enhance member engagement, and maintain databases to track interactions and improve communication.
What you'll need#
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace and experience with database management or CRM systems. You must be comfortable troubleshooting both Mac and PC environments.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Background: Relevant study or interest in Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, Communications, Logistics, or Political Science.
- Work Style: A self-directed approach combined with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 9, 2026 – November 13, 2026).
- Modality: On-site in Florida.
- Commitment: Part-time, 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: $15/hour.
