About the role#
The Production Services Intern will join the team for a 12-week summer program. You will gain hands-on experience managing and working with operational data. Working alongside our engineers, you will build foundational skills in SQL, Python, and data engineering while contributing to real project work that supports daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with SQL queries and Python scripts for data workflows.
- Help engineers with tasks across the data lifecycle, including data pulls, validation, and cleanup.
- Learn and follow our coding, documentation, and data quality standards.
- Assist with light code review and testing.
- Document scripts, workflows, and data definitions.
- Gain exposure to Databricks SQL and notebooks.
- Support ad-hoc departmental data requests.
- Manage projects involving process design, data structure design, and analytics.
- Build relationships across the Production Department.
- Complete a defined summer project and present your findings at the end of the internship.
- Use Salesforce according to department business processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Some coursework or self-directed experience in at least one programming language.
- Basic exposure to SQL or relational databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn new tools.
- Comfort working in a team environment, asking questions, and taking feedback.
- Familiarity with SQL syntax like SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, and GROUP BY.
- Interest in the oil and gas or energy industry.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks or Azure.
- Coursework in databases, data structures, or statistics.

- This is a remote, full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
