About the role#
The Risk Analyst intern joins the Risk Transformation Office for the Winter 2027 term. You will support Enterprise Risk Governance and Transformation by focusing on risk reporting and AI-enabled process improvement. This role involves working with data, technology, and business stakeholders to make risk information easier to prepare, review, and use.
What you'll do#
- Identify recurring reporting, governance, and coordination tasks suitable for AI or automation.
- Build, test, and maintain AI agents, prompt libraries, and workflow automations.
- Write clear prompts to help AI tools produce accurate and reusable outputs.
- Review AI-generated content for quality, privacy, and information-handling accuracy.
- Run SQL-based data extracts, transform and validate data, and reconcile results for monthly and quarterly risk reporting.
- Coordinate with data providers to collect inputs, track deadlines, and maintain reporting trackers.
- Use Excel, SQL, Power BI, and PowerPoint to analyze data and build reporting outputs.
- Support ad hoc risk analytics by summarizing key drivers and business insights.
- Document processes, engage stakeholders, and track progress on risk transformation initiatives.
- Assist with regulatory engagement activities, including OSFI meetings and information requests.
- Maintain governance materials, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, including building AI agents or writing effective prompts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SQL and Power BI is preferred.
- Ability to clean, reconcile, and validate datasets.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear summaries and practical recommendations.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to learning new processes, technologies, and risk management concepts.
