About the role#
The Process Engineering Intern supports the daily engineering needs of the production environment at our Mahwah facility. This role provides hands-on experience in monitoring processes, resolving routine technical issues, and contributing to engineering projects aimed at improving quality, efficiency, and reliability. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain foundational experience in a medical equipment manufacturing setting.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering staff with data collection, process observations, and basic analysis on production lines.
- Assist in drafting, updating, and organizing SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Participate in engineering projects, including equipment upgrades, workflow improvements, process optimization trials, and validation activities.
- Prepare materials and documentation for process studies and improvement initiatives.
- Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering information and documenting issues.
- Track KPIs, update dashboards, and prepare summary reports for the engineering team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Production, and Maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement workshops and assist in developing training materials for new process rollouts.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Biomedical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Status as a rising junior or senior.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with CAD or CAM tools is considered a plus.
