About the role#
We are looking for a Research Associate Co-Op to join our team in Aurora, Illinois for the Winter 2027 season. This is a full-time, 6-month assignment. You will support the development and commercialization of products for chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP) applications. You will work in a laboratory environment at least 80% of the time.
What you'll do#
- Execute experiment plans set by scientists and engineers.
- Perform wet lab experiments, including formulation and polishing tests.
- Conduct product reliability tests and fundamental wet-chemistry studies.
- Collect, summarize, and analyze experimental data using statistical tools.
- Maintain the laboratory and improve data collection and quality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BA, BS, or MS program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation in 2027 or 2028.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques and characterization instrumentation.
- Knowledge of particle and surface science analysis, such as PSD, zeta potential, contact angle, and thin-film measurements.
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic statistical software like Excel, Minitab, or JMP.
- Familiarity with university co-op program requirements.
- Ability to wear PPE and lift approximately 40 pounds.
- Strong communication skills and a focus on safe laboratory practices.
