    About the role#

    We are looking for a Research and Development Engineer/Scientist Co-Op to join our team in Danbury, Connecticut. This is a 6-month, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work with scientists and engineers to develop and characterize products for semiconductor manufacturing, specifically focusing on gas delivery for ion implant and dry etch processes.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and build equipment for experimental setups to test concepts.
    • Automate existing processes to improve data acquisition and repeatability.
    • Create standard operating procedures for analytical equipment.
    • Manage procurement by identifying and working with suppliers.
    • Organize R&D documentation, including data logging and processing records.
    • Improve development efficiency by documenting existing lab processes.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program for Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from January to June.
    • A desire to perform hands-on laboratory work and build equipment.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
    • Familiarity with your university requirements for co-op participation.
    • Experience with SolidWorks, PLC programming, or data acquisition is a plus.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
