About the role#
Entegris is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op for a 6-month assignment in Round Rock, Texas. You will support the development of high purity, solid precursor delivery systems for the semiconductor industry. This role focuses on factory infrastructure, equipment reliability, and the design of complex delivery systems. You will work on-site, full-time, from January through June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate project timelines with the lead mechanical engineer and New Product Development management.
- Perform hands-on assembly of subassemblies and support equipment.
- Develop factory infrastructure to improve container builds, cleaning processes, capacity, and quality.
- Support the build out of alternative factory sites.
- Confirm component fitment, tolerance stack up, and ease of assembly.
- Quote components and order parts directly from machine shops and outside vendors.
- Create 2D drawings, bills of materials, and 3D models in SolidWorks following ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards.
- Manage change through cross-functional partnerships and create support documentation like part numbers and ECRs.
- Maintain a safe work environment and drive process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program with an expected graduation in 2027 or 2028.
- Familiarity with university requirements for co-op participation.
- Experience in a global, multi-location organization within the semiconductor industry.
- Knowledge of materials of construction, corrosive chemical interaction, thermodynamics, and vapor pressure.
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis software.
- Ability to drive projects to completion and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and a high degree of accountability.
- Professionalism and integrity.
