About the role#
This is a full-time, paid co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Rochester, New York, reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Department Manager. The role offers a 6-month experience designed to provide exposure to the full project development process within the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with Senior Mechanical Designers to learn the development cycle from initial sketches to finished products.
- Participate in all tasks that arise during the project development lifecycle.
- Engage in project assignments and networking opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- A solid grasp of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience using Solidworks and adherence to basic drafting standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working in both office settings and on the shop floor.
- Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, or design for manufacturability is preferred.
- Familiarity with fabrication methods like drilling, machining, sawing, and welding.
- Basic knowledge of FEA and CFD simulations, instrumentation, electro-mechanical systems, or Product Life Management software.
- Previous hands-on project experience or prior co-ops.

- Compensation: $23.00 to $31.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 days of accrued paid vacation for those working at least 20 hours per week.
