About the role#
We are looking for a Material Quality Engineering Co-Op to join our team in San Luis Obispo, California. This role supports the production of gas filtration products for the semiconductor industry. The position is a six-month, full-time assignment running from January through June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and trend supplier quality data.
- Investigate root causes for raw material issues.
- Implement corrective actions for quality concerns internally and at supplier sites.
- Communicate technical information to suppliers.
- Review quality documentation and specifications.
- Provide administrative support and track Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Prepare for audits and follow up on related actions.
- Maintain supplier scorecards.
- Manage projects related to drawing and specification validation.
- Support initiatives to reduce defects and improve supplier performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student, ideally pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with technical documentation and organizing data.
- Basic data analysis skills using tools like Excel or Minitab.
- Analytical problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Familiarity with your university requirements for co-op participation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
