About the role#
Entegris is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer Co-Op for our Chaska, Minnesota site. This is a full-time, 6-month assignment for the Winter 2027 term. You will support manufacturing and operational excellence by applying Lean and Six Sigma principles. You will work alongside operations, engineering, quality, and production teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions that reduce waste and process variation.
What you'll do#
- Support Lean initiatives including 5S, visual management, standard work, and workplace organization.
- Participate in and facilitate Kaizen events.
- Conduct Gemba walks to observe manufacturing processes and engage employees in problem-solving.
- Support Total Daily Management processes through metric tracking and daily accountability.
- Lead projects focused on scrap reduction, variance reduction, process capability, and cost savings.
- Apply Six Sigma and root cause analysis tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, and Process Mapping.
- Assist with Kanban implementation and material flow improvements.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes for ergonomic and safety improvements.
- Analyze operational data to measure results and communicate findings to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a student in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, between January and June.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Familiarity with university requirements for co-op participation.
- A hands-on approach and curiosity regarding manufacturing processes.
