About the role#
Entegris is seeking an Analytical Organic Lab Co-Op for a 6-month assignment in Billerica, Massachusetts. This position supports the evaluation of liquid filtration and purification products through hands-on experimental work in our Metrology Laboratories. You will contribute to the development, optimization, and validation of advanced organic analytical methods used to assess filtration and purification materials. This work supports research and development initiatives for next-generation technologies in the semiconductor industry.
What you'll do#
- Conduct organic analysis using GC-MS, Pyrolysis-GC-MS, LC-MS, G-NVR, and TOC.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations to optimize testing methods.
- Maintain accurate records and document new testing procedures.
- Present project progress during group meetings.
- Develop and validate methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic impurities.
- Build an internal database using LC-QToF for identifying unknown compounds.
- Map organic impurities in various solvents to assist internal customers.
- Develop TOC methods for corrosive solvents used in semiconductor production.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student, preferably as a junior or senior in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in a chemistry laboratory, including handling chemicals and operating instrumentation.
- Experience generating, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data.
- Foundational knowledge of organic chemistry and organic analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with analytical instrumentation like GC-MS, LC-MS, and HPLC.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a laboratory environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with your university requirements for co-op participation.
- Ability to safely lift and carry a 17-pound solvent bottle to chest height.
- Ability to evacuate the laboratory independently in an emergency.
- No photosensitivity, as some laboratory instruments emit flashing lights.
Location & details#
- Location: Billerica, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through June).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Employment status: Paid position.
