About the role#
The Event Technology Intern assists in the setup and operation of audiovisual systems for live events. This role provides technical and sales support in a hotel and convention center environment, working under the guidance of field or corporate management to ensure client satisfaction.
What you'll do#
- Execute the setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
- Meet with guests on-site to ensure equipment is functioning and needs are met.
- Monitor events and check in with customers throughout the duration of their programs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with equipment and software.
- Manage equipment requests, interact with staff and vendors, and handle paperwork including order entries and invoice finalization.
- Support revenue goals by utilizing floor up-selling techniques.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BA/BS degree, preferably in Hospitality, Business, Media Production, Radio/TV/Film, or a related field.
- 0 to 6 months of experience in field audio-visual work or customer service.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and interest in new technology.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at a hotel location within the major metro market of Overland Park, Kansas.
