About the role#
The Clinical Information Systems Student Intern will work within our department to support various programs and clinical systems. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will handle assigned projects, assist internal business units, and contribute to the improvement of our clinical systems.
What you'll do#
- Support clinical systems analysts with ongoing projects and daily tasks.
- Respond to assistance requests from internal customers.
- Summarize technical information into high-level reports for the CISO and management.
- Keep the Security Lead updated on your current activities and any issues.
- Participate in all required intern activities and programs.
- Create and deliver a final presentation covering the skills you learned during the internship.
- Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a relevant field.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with workflow analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation for healthcare applications.
- Basic knowledge of identity access management, networking, and security controls for operating systems and devices.
- Experience with service request fulfillment, writing documentation, and reporting metrics.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at our Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama.
- The internship runs from June 7, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
