About the role#
Enact is seeking a Data Science Intern for a 12-week program starting May 17, 2027. You will join the Data Science team in Raleigh to build analytics that help various business functions improve their efficiency. Interns participate in weekly events, professional development workshops, and networking opportunities with company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teams in Operations, Marketing, Pricing, Risk, and Customer Solutions to define business questions.
- Prepare data and build predictive and prescriptive models to address specific business needs.
- Design and implement forecasting models to optimize business processes.
- Perform exploratory data analysis using structured and unstructured datasets.
- Use Machine Learning and traditional statistical modeling to provide actionable insights for decision making.
- Explain complex models and methods to non-analytical business users and governance teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Data Science.
- Practical experience with Python, including Pandas and Scikit-learn.
- Experience using Spark and SQL for database query and management in a cloud platform.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning platforms, libraries, and programming.
- Technical background in time series forecasting, optimization, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting findings to diverse audiences.
