About the role#
Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is hiring a Data Prep Intern to join our team in Kansas City. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. You will work on civil construction projects, using 3D CAD technology to build surface and terrain models, survey staking files, and files for GPS-controlled construction equipment. This role focuses on producing accurate 3D models for projects like highways, bridges, utility systems, and commercial developments.
What you'll do#
- Draft 3D site models and survey staking files using CAD software.
- Review designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other stakeholders to develop accurate designs.
- Maintain and organize project records and files.
- Perform quality control checks on completed designs.
- Communicate with team members to coordinate design and constructability solutions.
What you'll need#
- 2+ years of experience in civil CAD or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of construction and civil engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and documents.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- An Associates degree in Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a similar field is preferred.
