About the role#
This is a rolling internship at Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. You will work in our office in Columbia, MO, to support civil construction projects. This role involves using 3D CAD technology to build surface and terrain models, survey staking files, and files for GPS and Total Station equipment. You will contribute to a range of projects including commercial facilities, highways, bridges, and utility systems.
What you'll do#
- Draft 3D site models and survey staking files using CAD software.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other stakeholders to develop accurate designs.
- Perform quality control checks on completed designs.
- Assist in the review of designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements.
- Communicate effectively with project team members and clients.
- Maintain and organize accurate project records.
- Coordinate design and constructability solutions with internal staff.
What you'll need#
- 2+ years of experience in civil CAD or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of construction and civil engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and documents.
- An Associates degree in Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a similar field is preferred.
