About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will work alongside project managers, engineers, and field staff to support the planning and execution of heavy civil projects. This position is for the Summer 2027 term and is based on-site in Kansas City, Missouri.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with project teams on the planning, execution, and management of construction work.
- Spend time on construction sites to observe and participate in daily activities.
- Assist with project documentation, including reports, plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Learn about construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Work with field staff to ensure project goals are met.
- Participate in troubleshooting and finding solutions to construction challenges.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant degree program or technical school, such as Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong academic performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to the construction environment.
- A proactive attitude and a desire to learn.
