About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at Emerson, you will join the Software Research & Development team. You will work with experienced engineers to build CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and AI-enabled tooling. Your work helps internal engineering teams automate, test, and deploy solutions for products used by customers globally.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release automation.
- Develop scripts, services, and tools to automate manual engineering workflows.
- Support AI/ML-enabled tooling through prototyping, integration, and evaluation.
- Manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Investigate build, test, and deployment failures to implement durable fixes.
- Participate in Agile planning, code reviews, and technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Programming or scripting experience in Python, C#, or a similar language.
- Familiarity with source control and automated builds or testing.
- Interest in DevOps practices, cloud platforms, and applied AI/ML tooling.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Exposure to containers, orchestration, or infrastructure-as-code such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
- Experience with cloud services on AWS or Azure and Linux environments.
- Coursework or projects involving machine learning, LLMs, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
