About the role#
The Sales Development Engineering intern role is for students interested in technical sales, applications engineering, and technical marketing. You will participate in training programs covering test and measurement products, our sales process, and public speaking. This position is designed to help you build technical competence and customer understanding while working within the Test & Measurement business unit at Emerson.
What you'll do#
- Spend your initial weeks gaining expertise with test and measurement tools and our sales process.
- Partner with an Account Manager to support customer sales requests and product configurations.
- Develop test and measurement expertise.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, technical support, operations, and business units.
- Travel to customer sites to provide product demonstrations and presentations.
- Work with our partner and distribution channels.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Understanding of electronics, computers, and high-level programming languages such as C, Python, or LabVIEW.
- Ability to relocate to Austin, TX for the summer.
- Availability for one week of travel.
- Effective communication skills and English language competency.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- A desire to pursue a career in technical sales, marketing, or applications engineering.
