About the role#
Emerson is seeking an iCenter Co-op for a full-time, 40-hour per week rotation in St. Louis, Missouri. This position runs from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work within our Process Systems and Solutions business, which develops automation software for manufacturing processes in industries such as oil and gas, refining, chemical, and life sciences.
What you'll do#
- Support technical analysis and manufacturing activities to ensure projects are executed efficiently.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to address questions regarding constructability, manufacturability, and assembly.
- Assist with project execution by preparing technical submittals and responding to customer inquiries.
- Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) in the MRP system based on engineering drawings, estimates, and documentation.
- Support the maintenance of kits and subassemblies for standard product lines.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, quality, and operational effectiveness.
- Provide support to project and production managers during manufacturing activities.
- Maintain technical documentation and facilitate communication between engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.
- Contribute to cross-functional problem solving throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in engineering, a technical field, or business administration.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, 40-hour per week schedule in St. Louis, MO from January 2027 to August 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not provided for this position.
- Technical curiosity and an eagerness to understand how products, systems, and processes work.
- Previous co-op or intern experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, such as serving in a leadership role in a student organization.
- Previous coursework involving automation, PLC, process controls, or simulation.
