About the role#
This is a paid, part-time summer internship for 2027. You will work within our branch underwriting department to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry. This role is based in Wichita, Kansas, and operates on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Support underwriters by gathering the information required to evaluate new business and renewal submissions.
- Communicate with agents and external sources.
- Learn our internal culture, business processes, and product offerings.
- Build a practical understanding of how the insurance underwriting process works.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a business major, with a preference for finance, marketing, or insurance studies.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in property and casualty insurance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical ability combined with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with personal computers.
